Orton-Gillingham was developed by neuropsychiatrist Samuel Orton and schoolteacher Anna Gillingham. It is the multisensory instruction of phonology, morphology, orthography, and semantics. It has been scientifically improved upon for almost a century, and is renowned for its effectiveness. Orton-Gillingham means that a dyslexic child is not destined for low literacy and its depressing consequences.
